Precision's Involvement in Construction Downtown Continues

Work continues in the heart of downtown Cleveland on the future home of the Cuyahoga County Government Headquarters. Known as the P&H Buildings, the structures are part of the larger Ameritrust Complex. Precision Environmental recently completed the abatement scope of work on the buildings by removing and disposing of asbestos containing materials throughout the structures to facilitate future demolition.

"Precision is proud to be a part of the construction team transforming the future home of the Cuyahoga County Headquarters. We are excited for the successful beginnings of this project and look forward to continuing our longstanding contribution to downtown construction," said Joe DiGeronimo, the Vice President of Precision Environmental. With the abatement portion complete, fellow DiGeronimo Company Independence Excavating is now handling the demolition phase of the project.

Purchased in December of last year by the Geis Companies, the P&H Buildings project has received a tremendous amount of attention since construction began back in January. On April 9th, County Executive Ed FitzGerald took part in a ceremony held to celebrate the beginning of the demolition phase. FitzGerald commended the efforts of those involved on the project that will house 700-800 county workers upon completion. "Sometimes you have to tear down to build up", said Fitzgerald. "We wanted to turn this complex into something that the county could really be proud of." The demolition phase is expected to be completed in July of this year with the entire project slated to be wrapped up by July of 2014.
